11th APG National Conference

The 11 APG National Conference was held at Government (State) College of Education, Patiala on 1718 November 2010. The inaugural session was chaired by Dr. G.S. Gosal, Professor Emeritus, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Besides, senior teachers of the subject like Dr. S.S. Dhillon, Principal J.S. Kaliana, Dr. H.S. Mangat, Dr. Seet Singh and Kanwar Surjit Singh, Secretary General of the ISPER and Ex. Chief Town Planner Haryana, graced the occasion. Dr. S.S. Dhillon, Patron of the conference welcomed the guests and delegates. Dr. H.S. Mangat, gave a brief introduction about the APG and its activities in the last year.

12th APG National Conference

The Department of Geography, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh is hosting the 12 APG National Conference on “Mountain Environment and Natural Resource Management” on October 8-9, 2011.

Dr. Saminderjeet Singh Young Geographer Award

Three copies of original research paper along with bio-data of the author who has not attained the age of 35 years are invited from the life/annual members of the APG for the Young Geographer Award. The paper should be submitted in English to Dr. B.R. Thakur, Assistant Professor, Department of Geography, H.P. University, Shimla, (E-Mail- brthakur53@gmail.com, Mob-09418065518) who has been authorized by the APG Secretariat to conduct this competition.

State Level Geographical Quiz Contest

P.G Department of Geography, SCD Govt. College, Ludhiana will organize a State Level Inter College Geographical Quiz Contest under the aegis of ndthe Association of Punjab Geographers in the 2 week of Feburary, 2011. All the Departments of Geography of different colleges of Punjab are requested to participate. For details contact Dr. Dharm Singh Sandhu, Head Department of Geography, Govt. Installation of New President

Principal Joginder Singh Kaliana (Retd.) was ceremonially installed as the new President of the APG for the years 2011 and 2012. He was conducted to the chair by the outgoing president, Dr. Seet Singh and Dr. H.S. Mangat. The President was authorized to constitute his new team of the office bearers for the tenure of his office in consultation with the out going Executive Committee.
